Personal Note
Aaron was born in Bowling Green, KY on May 1, 1975 to Paul and Betty Witten. He was raised in Leitchfield, KY where he currently lives with his wife, Laura, and son, Luke.
He has extensive knowledge in business planning and management. At age 10 he started running his own sports card shop out of the corner of the family company’s (QPI, Inc.) home office. Shortly after college, Aaron started as a broker in Nashville, TN, and then moved to Leitchfield, KY to take over operations of QPI, Inc. from 2001 until the beginning of 2007– when he decided to leave active management of his parent’s company and start his private financial practice. Today, as a Registered Representative of Legend Equities Corporation, he helps clients with a variety of financial products and services.
His education includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University (1998), with a minor in music. Further educational and professional credentials include being a registered representative (NASD Series 6, 63), securities principal (NASD Series 26), and a Life, Health, and Variable Insurance Licensed professional.
He became a member of the Bowling Green Evening Lions Club in 2000, where he is still an active member today. In Lions, he has served as his club president for 2 years, Zone Chairman of Region 3, Zone 1 in district 43-E, and Vice District Governor during the his father’s term as Governor in 2005-2006. Following his father’s footsteps, Aaron became club Governor in 2006-2007. As governor Aaron helped to start 2 new clubs in his district and served on various Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation Committees. In additions he helped to procure and ship 10,000 pair of eyeglasses to Sri Lanka for the Tsunami Relief Effort, started the process to secure a $75,000 Lions International grant for building the local Leitchfield Community Healthplex, and with the help of his cabinet led the district to a positive membership gain during his term.
In Lions, he is a Certified Guiding Lion, recipient of 2 President’s Awards, Campaign Sight First 2 “Knight of Strength”, KLEF Life Patron, and Finis Davis Award Recipient. He currently serves in Lions as the Immediate Past District Governor for district 43-E and as the liaison for the district to the Lions Club International Foundation. He also earned the title of “Duke of Hazard” in 2007 for his work with Lions in the state.
His awards, involvement, and accomplishments outside of Lionism include being past president of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity while at WKU, Founder & Chairperson of “Drums on the Hill” Professional Drum & Bugle Corps competition at WKU from 1998-2001, co-founder of one of the first internet service in Grayson County in 1996, Kentucky Colonel in 1996, and became certified as a visual judge for Drum Corps International in 2002.
His greatest local business impact came from co-founding Gamestation, Inc. in 2001 with his brother, Jay. Today, Gamestation, Inc. and CustomDice, Inc. have become household names in the world games economy. The custom division of Gamestation, Inc. was recently featured in the “7-7-07 Weddings” editorial in InStyle Magazine. Aaron currently serves as CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of this company.*
His active involvement and other memberships include being a member of First Baptist Church in Leitchfield, where he currently serves on the church finance and media teams. As well, he is currently serving as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) – a worldwide non-profit game education and business organization located in Columbus, Ohio.
Hobbies and interests include his family, computers, business, traveling, finance, and playing games of both the traditional and electronic varieties.
